Sister Slate Studio

COLLECTIVE

Sister Slate Studio is a female-led production collective in Paisley. Three independent companies share one studio, making film, TV, documentary and audio side by side.

We each run our own company, with our own projects, clients and ways of working. Under one roof, we swap ideas, share advice and lend a hand when a deadline gets close. When a project needs more people, we know exactly who to ask.

SPACE TO SHARE

We’d also like to open up our space to other independent filmmakers in the area. We know how lonely it can be to work from home, and how distracting it is to hold meetings in a busy coffee shop.

That’s why we have extra desk space, a meeting booth and a wee edit suite that we’d love to share with the wider community when we can.

So if you’re interested in an occasional desk, a chat, a space to meet clients or collaborators, or you just want to find out more about using the studio, get in touch. We’d love to hear from you.

Shakehaus

Scripted, big-hearted and sometimes cosmic

Shakehaus has been making work in Scotland for over a decade. Most recently, we delivered Future Acts, six original shorts for the National Theatre of Scotland, made with BBC Scotland and premiered in cinemas before reaching iPlayer in 2027. Our BBC Three/BBC Scotland film Govan Fair Queen recently won a Celtic Media Award for Short Form (Screen) 2026, and our other productions have played at festivals including Encounters, EIFF, Fantasia, PÖFF, Oberhausen and Aesthetica. We like the weird, the big-hearted, the spooky, the deadpan and the dreadful. To name a few.

We believe filmmakers have the power, and the responsibility, to change things for the better. And we want to grow with like-minded filmmakers. We like to be hands-on, shaping stories together from development all the way through to distribution. We’re an international team with links across Europe and North America, and we’re actively seeking co-production partners.

Secret Garden Pictures

Award-winning film production · London & Glasgow

Secret Garden Pictures is an award-winning UK film production company with bases in London and Glasgow, committed to bringing underrepresented voices and untold stories to the screen. From kitchen-sink dramas to horror, we seek out the darker, truer side of life, exploring the complexities of the human experience through a diverse range of genres.

Our films shine a light on stories and perspectives that are too often overlooked, exploring themes including mental health, young carers and drug addiction. Our work has resonated with audiences at film festivals around the world, sparking conversations and challenging perceptions.

Our credits include Blackout (BFI / Film London), Chasing the Vein and Summer, alongside horror titles including Sundowning (Take Three / Screen Scotland), Katseli Law (with ShakeHaus), Straw (Mythic Picnic), Unravelling (Creative Scotland) and Midgies (Mythic Picnic / Blazing Griffin / Zertex Media). The company has also contributed to Shelley as Creative Producer through the BFI Script Lab.

We believe in the power of film to provoke thought, create empathy and tell stories that stay with audiences long after the credits roll.
